Visa option for Canada

The temporary Canada visas allow the person to stay in Canada for a specific period which is determined by the Canadian Consulate or the Border Services Officers (BSO). This time is usually up to 6 months.

Here are the types of Canadian Temporary Visas:

Canada Tourist Visa: The Visitor Visa or the Tourist visa allows the holder to enter Canada for tourism in the country

Canada Super Visa:  The Canadian Super Visa allows parents or grandparents of Canadian citizens or Canadian Permanent Residents to visit their children or grandchildren for an extended stay

Diplomatic and Official Visa: The Diplomatic and Official visa permits officials and diplomats from foreign countries to enter Canada for official duties and purposes.

Courtesy Visa: The Courtesy visa is given to all those people who do not qualify for a Diplomatic and Official Visa but are considered important due to their ranks and positions.

Canada Business Visa: The Business Visa is given to those who are traveling to Canada for business purposes as individuals or as a group of business people.

Visa to Give Birth in Canada:  This visa is given to people who fulfill all the criteria to stay temporarily in Canada and who are pregnant and want to give birth in the country

Intending Organ Donors Visa:  This visa is given to a person who is traveling to Canada to donate an organ to a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.

Canada Facilitation Visa: Facilitation Visas are given to Canadian citizens with dual nationalities who do not have a Canadian passport but have a passport of another nationality.

Canada Student Visa:  A Canadian student visa is given to those who have been admitted to a Canadian university to complete their studies.

Canada Temporary Work Visa: Canada temporary work visas are given to those people who have a job offer in Canada and will work for up to 6 months

Students generally have to opt for the student visa: The Canada study visa will only allow them to start their studies in Canada at what are called Designated Learning Institutions (DLI). The study permit allows them to stay in Canada until their program ends and, in some cases, work while they are enrolled in school or work after they graduate.

To work in Canada, employees need to get temporary work visas and permits.

Interested in Studying in Canada

To get a work permit in Canada the employee may be eligible for either of the two permits:

  • Employer-specific work permit
  • Open work permit

An employer-specific work permit allows the employee to work according to the conditions on their work permit, which include:

  • The name of the employer they can work for
  • How long they can work
  • The location where they can work (If applicable)

An open work permit allows the employee to work for any employer in Canada.

An employee can pick the work permit that serves their interests and apply accordingly.

There are two steps to getting the work permit:

  • Applicant can receive the Canada work permit after applying for the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)
  • Once they get a positive LMIA, the applicant can work in Canada

The employee must meet the following requirements and contain the documents mentioned for an open work permit:

  • A work permit application must be endorsed by a designated Canadian employer having a positive (LMIA)
  • The employee must have a valid job offer
  • Valid passport
  • Class 12th Certificate and mark sheet
  • Relevant work experience of at least 2 years

To apply for a permit, an employee needs to have secured a job offer.

Canadian work permits are given an expiry date. It is a temporary way to work in Canada. Through this, the applicant can achieve work experience in Canada and then apply for permanent residency status after gaining adequate work experience.

If an employee wishes to take family members or spouses, they must apply for separate visas for each of them.

All the visas can be submitted at the same time along with the employees.

All documents must be complete and submitted together to avoid delay or rejection.
